BAHÁ’Í WORLD CONGRESS[edit]

London, England

April 28, 29, 30, May 1, 2, 1962

This is a most important bulletin of information concerning all Congress arrangements. The National Spiritual Assembly asks that everyone intending to go to London give the bulletin FULL AND IMMEDIATE ATTENTION and then carry out EACH INSTRUCTION EXACTLY AS GIVEN. THIS IS YOUR LAST CHANCE!

PLANE TRANSPORTATION[edit]

After months of continuous negotiating, in an attempt to arrange as many departure points and dates as possible, the following schedule is the very best one that could be procured, and it has now been accepted definitely by the National Spiritual Assembly as the OFFICIAL schedule. THIS IS IT!

Note: All above flights arrive in London the morning of the following day.

All offers of transportation and acceptance thereof are subject to the rules for chartered flights laid down by the CIVIL AERONAUTICS BOARD, Washington, D.C.

Since the National Spiritual Assembly is under contract to pay for all of the flights listed above, IT IS IMPERATIVE, in order to avoid financial loss to the National Spiritual Assembly, that each plane be booked TO CAPACITY. In spite of three Special Bulletins, beginning as early as last March, the National Spiritual Assembly STILL DOES NOT KNOW how many of the friends from the United States will be attending the Bahá’í World Congress. The time has come when the National Spiritual Assembly is required to make definite payments on these chartered flights. They, in turn, CAN DELAY NO LONGER in receiving the needed information PLUS the required deposits from all those who wish to take advantage of these low-cost flights.

Everyone who has sent in any completed application has by now received a notice from the OVERSEAS TRAVEL COMPANY to fill in a BLUE FORM (enclosed with the notice) and to return it immediately, together with the deposit check. Some have complied with this request, but MOST HAVE NOT.

The National Spiritual Assembly, therefore, directs every Bahá’í wishing to use these chartered planes to carry out AT ONCE the following instructions:

1. Those who have already registered, but who have not as yet returned to the OVERSEAS TRAVEL COMPANY the completed blue form and the required deposit check should do so IMMEDIATELY. This deposit is $50.00 PER PERSON. Checks should be made to the order of the “N.S.A. Plane Account” and sent with the completed blue form to the OVERSEAS TRAVEL COMPANY, 37 South Wabash Avenue, Chicago 3, Illinois.

2. If you have registered, but have not received the blue form from the OVERSEAS TRAVEL COMPANY (which means that it has gone astray), forward IMMEDIATELY your deposit check and YOUR FIRST AND SECOND CHOICES of the above-listed schedules, to the OVERSEAS TRAVEL COMPANY.

DO IT NOW! — DON’T WAIT!

3. Those who have NEVER registered, but who now wish to be included, should send IMMEDIATELY to the OVERSEAS TRAVEL COMPANY (as stated in paragraph 1. above) their deposit checks and indicate their FIRST AND SECOND CHOICES of schedules of flights as listed in this bulletin. [Page 2] All preliminary reservations which have not been finalized by sending in the completed blue form with $50.00 PER PERSON, on or before OCTOBER 31, will be CANCELLED AUTOMATICALLY. DEADLINE — OCTOBER 31!

PAYMENTS[edit]

The deposit of $50.00 PER PERSON is DUE NOW. The balance on your round-trip plane transportation must be PAID IN FULL not later than JANUARY 5, 1963. While our official deadline is December 31, a grace period of five days is being allowed to enable the friends to collect January first interest on savings accounts.

Cancellation with full refund is possible up to December 31, but after that, only if replaced by another Bahá’í.

The National Spiritual Assembly reserves the right at all times to cancel any scheduled aircraft which are not booked to full capacity.

Much effort has been expended by the National Spiritual Assembly and the National Congress Arrangements Committee for the sole purpose of securing the safest and least expensive plane transportation to London.

(If anyone booked in one of the special Conducted Tours is uncertain of the exact dates, he may leave that space blank, so that the OVERSEAS TRAVEL COMPANY can fill it in.)

IMPORTANT — All those making their own hotel reservations in London should indicate this fact by writing it on the following blank and mailing it to the National Congress Arrangements Committee, Mrs. Margaret Chance, Secretary, 536 Sheridan Road, Wilmette, Illinois.
