Functions: To conduct public meetings for the procla- mation of the Faith in Bahá’í Temple Foundation Hall, in accordance with the principles laid down by the Na- tional Spiritual Assembly.

National Teaching[edit]
Functions: To proclaim and expand the Faith through- out the United States as called for under the Nine- Year Plan of the Universal House of Justice; to increase the number of localities where Bahá’ís reside; to raise groups to assembly status; to encourage, supervise and coordinate extension teaching activities of local spiritual assemblies; to arrange teaching circuits and settlement projects; to plan and conduct teaching con- ferences; to foster youth teaching; to teach on college campuses; to enroll a greater number of believers from minority groups, especially Chinese, Japanese, Spanish-speaking peoples, Negroes, and off-reservation American Indians; to encourage and stimulate isolated and small groups; to carry out any other national teaching activities approved by the National Spiritual Assembly.

Community Development[edit]
Functions: To assist all local spiritual assemblies to become well-informed, firmly-grounded and actively functioning; to assist local spiritual assemblies in the achievement of incorporation and obtaining legal rec- ognition of Bahá’í Holy Days and the Bahá’í Marriage Certificate; to facilitate dispersal; to carry out any oth- er development activities assigned to the committee by the National Spiritual Assembly.

American Indian Service[edit]
Functions: To devise ways and means of attracting and enrolling in the Faith greater numbers of Ameri- can Indians resident on Indian reservations through- out the United States; to develop favorable attitudes toward the Faith among Indian leaders; to provide for translation of the Teachings into Indian languages; to be responsible for the enrollment and deepening of be- lievers on reservations where there is no existing local spiritual assembly; to assist in the formation and training of local spiritual assemblies on Indian reser- vations; to collaborate with the National Teaching Committee in its effort to carry the Teachings to great- er numbers of non-reservation Indians.
