NATIONAL TEACHING
National Teaching
Functions: To proclaim and expand the Faith through- out the United States as called for under the Nine-Year Plan of the Universal House of Justice; to increase the number of localities where Baha'is reside; to raise groups to assembly status; to encourage, supervise and coordinate extension teaching activities of local spir- itual assemblies; to arrange teaching circuits and settlement projects; to plan and conduct teaching con- ferences; to foster youth teaching; to teach on college campuses; to enroll a greater number of believers from minority groups, especially Chinese, Japanese, Spanish- speaking peoples, Negroes, and off-reservation Amer- ican Indians; to encourage and stimulate isolated and small groups; to carry out any other national teaching activities approved by the National Spiritual Assembly.

Functions: To devise ways and means of attracting and enrolling in the Faith greater numbers of American Indians resident on Indian reservations throughout the United States; to develop favorable attitudes toward the Faith among Indian leaders; to provide for trans- lation of the Teachings into Indian languages; to be responsible for the enrollment and deepening of believ- ers on reservations where there is no existing local spiritual assembly; to assist in the formation and train- ing of local spiritual assemblies on Indian reservations; to collaborate with the National Teaching Committee in its effort to carry the Teachings to greater numbers of nonreservation Indians.
