314.1 The Universal House of Justice has received with joy reports of the public interreligious gathering organized by the Roman Catholic Church in New Delhi in the presence of Pope John Paul II during his recent visit to India. Designated representatives of the different religions were invited to briefly address the gathering, and Mrs. Zena Sorabjee spoke on behalf of the Bahá’ís. Such was the importance of this event as a further step in the recognition of the Faith as a major religion in India that the Universal House of Justice wished to share with you copies of Mrs. Sorabjee's address and a description of the occasion based on reports received from the National Spiritual Assembly of India and Mrs. Sorabjee.
