Letter to Marian Haney[edit]
ALLÁH-U-ABHÁ!
May 5th, 1922. Persian Colony, Haifa, Palestine.
My dear Spiritual Sister:
The reading of the Bulletin issued by 'the Teaching Committee' has brought joy and fragrance to the sorrowful hearts of the Holy Household; it was also read in the meeting of the friends who greatly rejoiced over the devotion and the confirmed services of their beloved sisters and brethren across the seas. With hearts ablaze with the love of the Beloved Master, and with faces shining with the radiance of hope, they lifted their voices in thanksgiving to their loving Father, ‘Abdu’l-Bahá, who from His Realm on High, still watches over His fold and comforts their hearts with the soul-refreshing news of the spread of the Cause. They prayed that the friends may be confirmed in their endeavors to bring love and joy to the sorrow-stricken world.
I am very sorry, dear sister, that your letter and the Bulletin reached too late for Shoghi Effendi to read; yet I know how great a joy the news of the confirmed services of our dear brothers, Mr. Gregory and Mr. Vail, would have brought to a heart that beats only for the love and service of the Cause. The glorious Promises of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá regarding the future growth of the Cause in America, the manifest love and devotion of the friends, their firmness in the Covenant, and their earnest desire to carry out the Will of our Beloved Lord helped to dispel the gloom of sorrow and to revive his hopes. Now that the momentous events of the last few months have made it necessary for him to leave the Holy Land, he relies upon the unified efforts and effective action of the friends to help the onward march of the Cause.
The Greatest Holy Leaf highly approves of the circulation of the Bulletin among the friends, for, she says: "It will bring them to a quicker realization of the ABHÁ Power, will strengthen them in their belief that guidance is vouchsafed to the confident soul, and that Divine Confirmations will assist him who ariseth to serve His Cause."
The Ladies of the Household send their best Bahá’í greetings and wish me to express to you their heartfelt admiration for your devoted services in the Cause. They remember you at the Holy Shrine and pray that the ABHÁ blessings may always surround you.
Yours very sincerely in His NAME,
(Signed) Ruh-Angie Rabbani,
