- O my servant! O Joseph! Hear the tone of God and do not compare this day with any other day, neither the wonderful, sweet Word of God with any other words; look to the apparent matters with thine own eye, and do not follow anyone in knowing the Greatest and Brilliant Orb.
- In this day, the beloved of God must not hesitate or delay an instant in teaching the Cause of the Manifestation, and must summon the people continually, with great admonition and conciliating words, to the Religion of Majestic Oneness; because, verily, in this day, to the soul who is the cause of guidance to another soul the recompense of a martyr in the way of God will be assuredly recorded by the Pen of the Cause, for his deed.
- I received thy letter, and the books that thou hadst sent have been received. Convey, on my behalf, most wonderful ABHA, greetings unto Mr. Albert R. Windust, Miss Gertrude Buikema and Miss Mary Lesch. During hours of leisure, when in the middle of the night I engage in supplications, I shall beg for assistance and favor in their behalf. Indeed, they have made a great effort in the printing and publication of the Letters (i. e. Tablets).†
- As to the difference between the natural (i. e. physical or material) civilization which is in the present day in force, and the Divine civilization which shall be of the results of The House of Justice: The material civilization prevents and safeguards people from committing evil deeds, through the force of the laws of retaliation and correction. Thus, you see how prohibitory laws and rules of correction are constantly in circulation and yet, by no means, any (adequate) law of retribution is to be found; and in all the cities of Europe and America spacious prison buildings have been founded and established for correcting and punishing the criminals.
- But the Divine civilization will so train mankind that no soul will commit crimes, except rare (or few) individuals, which exception is of no importance whatsoever. Consequently, there is much difference between preventing people from evil actions and crimes through correction and retaliation or through violent punishment, and {{so training them, enlightening them and

spiritualizing them that they will shun crimes and evil deeds without any fear (however) of punishment, prevention or retaliation. Nay, they will consider crimes themselves as the greatest punishment and mightiest retribution, will be attracted to the virtues of the human world and devotedly spend their lives in that which is conducive to the enlightenment of mankind and to spreading qualities acceptable in the Threshold of the Almighty.
- Consequently, consider what a difference and distinction is there between the material civilization and the Divine civilization! The natural civilization prevents men from doing harm and wrong through force and punishment and thus withholds them from committing crimes. But the Divine civilization so trains men that the human individuals avoid sins without having any fear from (material) punishment; and the very sin itself becomes unto them as the severest punishment. And they will engage in acquiring human virtues, gaining that by which mankind will be uplifted and that which will enlighten the human world with the utmost zeal and fervor.
- O Thou Creator! Bring the American friends nigh unto the Kingdom of ABHA and suffer their deeds and actions to be in conformity with the Commandments and Exhortations written in the Tablets. Make them firm in Thy Love and steadfast in Thy Cause. Attract them unto the Bahai Beauty and cause them to attain infinite warmth and fervor. Bestow upon them a firm footing and give them a heavenly power in order that they may engage in Thy service and spread the Signs of the Kingdom.
- Thou art the Powerful, the Mighty! Thou art the Compassionate, the Gracious, the Seer!
- Convey, on my behalf, the most wonderful ABHA, greeting to his honor, Mr. MacNutt and Mrs. MacNutt.
- The news of the attraction of the hearts of the believers of God ignited the candle of happiness and created spiritual joy. Abdul-Baha traveled to the land of Joseph of Canaan and because well known in the servitude of the Holy Threshold. Although the attack of the sects and the false rumors and statements in the newspapers are intense, yet it is my hope that this journey may become fruitful and the Voice and Summons of the Cause of God may move these regions; some seed may be sown and watered and be assisted by the downpour of the rain of the Mercy of the Almighty. Assuredly they will grow and become green and verdant.
- Praise be to God! that through the Bounty and Favor of the Most Great Name—May my life be a sacrifice to His believers!—the Voice of the Cause of God is raised in all countries and the Fame and Melody of the Word of God is spread in every region. In these days the Cause of God is progressing and advancing in America, and in Asia there is the clamor of Turk and Tajik. The Bahais have founded an English newspaper in the capital of Japan, which is edited and circulated by his honor, the learned Professor Barakatullah, of India. Some of the American believers are expecting to make a trip to China and Manchuria so that they may raise the Voice of the Kingdom in those parts, and in Europe and Asia the Trumpet of the Supreme Concourse is heard.
- God be praised! Notwithstanding this divine, Majestic Cause, the promotion of the Word of God and the diffusion of the Fragrances of God, a few impotent ones, who are less than the flies, desire to break the Covenant and violate the Testament. How fruitless and weak is their endeavor! The screech of the owl is discordant before the Melody of the Kingdom and the cawing of the crow is drowned before the harmony of the
Nightingale of Significance; the weak bat with its shattered broken wing cannot soar with the white-winged Gabriel, and the darkness of humiliation and remorse cannot cover the rays of the Sun of Truth. Were there any justice they would all testify that this Pen is not moving the East and the West except through the Confirmation of the Blessed Perfection, and this Melody is not imparting rejoicing and delight to the world except through the assistance of the Most Great Name. When the blind souls deny the existence of the sun, they think they have accomplished a great feat, while heedless of the fact that they have proved more than anything else their own ignorance.
- During the past two years three distinct movements inaugurated in America by the Bahais, have demonstrated to the friends in the Orient, to what extent the Cause has spread and with what spiritual power it has become manifest in the western world. First is the building of the Mashrak-el-Azkar in Chicago, which brought forth such a generous contribution from all parts of the world and united the Bahais in a bond of ideal union and concord. Second, the organization of the Persian-American Educational Society in Washington, D. C. The practical usefulness and wide-spread fame which this Society has achieved in a short time has attracted great attention among prominent men of the Orient. The necessity of such a Society has been felt for some time, and it will undoubtedly achieve great service in the future throughout the East as well as in Persia. A writer in a recent newspaper in Egypt says, that of all the many societies which have been formed during the past few years to serve Persia, this Society has demonstrated itself to be the most useful and the most practical. {{Third, the publication of the BAHAI NEWS, now the STAR OF THE WEST, edited jointly in Chicago and Washington. The hundreds of letters received from all parts of the Orient, from every city, town and village, are the greatest proof that this publication has effected a most wonderful service in the Bahai world. It has irrefutably demonstrated that the Cause of BAHA'O'LLAH is advancing with great strides toward its ultimate destination. The deniers of the Cause have never dreamed that this Revelation would bring about such results. For the last few months many Assemblies in Persia and the Orient have been organized, several schools are being established, and many changes are introduced; in fact, it might be said that the Cause is entering upon a period of reconstruction, the results of which will be beneficial and wholesome. The following news items are a few paragraphs gleaned from the immense correspondence which has been very lately received from the Orient:
- ABADE.—In these days every Bahai Assembly in Persia is engaged in practical service and co-operation and the friends are engaged in the establishment of various
committees to work for the advancement of the Cause. We have just now organized the Mahfel Entezam, which will be composed of members who are engaged in spreading the Cause, studying the Teachings, corresponding with the different Assemblies and giving succor to the helpless ones. Haji Tavangar, a well known Bahai, is the chairman; Mirza Nasrollah is Secretary, and Mirza Azzizollah is Treasurer. We hope that the friends in the West will correspond with us. We also have organized a boys' club, whose members meet once a week for two hours reading of the Tablets, memorizing the Hidden Words, and social refreshment. In regard to the School of Tarbiat here: It was established three years ago, through a very progressive man, Haji Ali Khan. Though this man has never traveled abroad and is unacquainted with modern educational methods, yet he is very anxious to do all he can for the advancement of this school. In the past he sought in vain to find an assistant who was acquainted with western methods, until a few months ago the friends engaged Mirza Anayatollah Sohrab, who is a graduate from the American College
in Teheran. After his arrival, the school awakened to greater activities, but not having textbooks, such as geographies, arithmetics, physiologies and readers, we have labored under great difficulties. We hope that some provision will be made so that we can get these books from America and thus start the new system with great vigor.
- ESPHAHAN.—Our Spiritual Assembly has had weekly meetings and the STAR OF THE WEST has been a great encouragement in our work. Several new people have entered the Cause. In a newspaper we have read that Miss Barney has written a book called, “God's Heroes.” We would like very much to have a copy of this book that we might become acquainted with its contents. Two of the celebrated teachers, Seyad Jalal and Mirza Haji Aga, who have been teaching in this city for a year, have left for Teheran. Their stay in our midst has been productive of good results. The daily papers are writing articles in regard to the five American Financiers who are to reconstruct the finances of Persia. Everyone is pleased with this new link which will bring Persia and America nearer together.
HAMADAN—THE STAR OF THE WEST has met with great approval on every side and
the friends have subscribed to it so that they may in a small way contribute toward the foundation of this Bahai publication. We hope that soon the Bahais in America will enter into commercial relationship with the Persians, as there are many articles to be exchanged to the mutual benefit of both parties. We are ready to enter such negotiations whenever such a channel is opened.
- TEHERAN.—Our dear sister, Dr. Moody has been appointed as the American representative of the P. A. E. S., so it is hoped that the affairs of the Society will be atttended to in the future without loss of time. The authorities of the school are awaiting the arrival of the two American teachers. The school for girls is soon to be opened and the lady teacher will receive a hearty welcome on her arrival. Lately, Abdul-Baha has given permission to Mirza Sotfollah and Gottsia Khanum (the Persian girl) to go to America to study. They expect to leave the latter part of June with the hope of first visiting Abdul-Baha. It is hoped that this first Persian girl going to America, will receive great benefits from her studies, and that her going will open the door for many to follow. The friends here expect to organize a commercial committee for the transaction of business between the Orient and the Occident.
Dear friends in El-Baha:
All American will certainly love Persia if they feel as I do. I am very happy here and just now the air is filled with the atmosphere of preparation for the New Year and this letter leaves here on the great day.
- No one can over-estimate the joy of the Persians in anticipation of the coming of Americans. Everything having any connection with America is attractive to them. One of my friends sent me some seeds of a medicinal plant I wanted to raise. Fortunately, there was a generous supply and I was able to distribute them among many people here besides sending some to Esphahan and Yazd.
- There are so many things that modern governmental management can improve and the Persians realize it more than the foreigners.
- The eagerness for education makes the young people and children very apt and only those who are with them are able to realize it. A young man had been kind to us when we first came here and I offered to do something for him in return. His sister wanted to study English and although I had never taught anyone, I felt I must try, and before the end of a week I had a room full and finally was invited to a little school and take my class with me. I use a little primer and have my interpreter translate the lesson into Persian—then give it to them with added vocabulary. Two hours a week is very little to give to such bright, eager people, and I want to do more. The opportunity will soon be mine, for another school is to be opened this week. Some of the pupils know English but want experience in talking and I will give them at least two hours each week.
- No one who has not been with the Persian women can imagine their sweetness—and as to the children, I know no words to tell of them.
- A lady from Yonkers sent me some picture books of her little girl and I have distributed them among the children. Already a letter has been written to the little girl (Rosalie Moore) by a little Persian boy and he has also sent two photos of the little king. Mrs. Moore's idea was to establish a correspondence between children all over the world, and among the Bahais this is certainly a good place to begin a letter friendship,
if it has not been done already, for although the city is large and there are hundreds of Bahais here and I have seen many, I know there are a great many I have not seen.
- We attended a meeting of women in the Jewish quarter. They have been made up mostly of inquirers. At this last one Faeze Khanum was the teacher and I took with me an English woman who knows some Persian (not a Bahai) or, rather, she went with Dr. Moody and me. Her surprise at the depth of the questions asked and the ready, satisfactory answers was very great, and there are a great many Jewish women Bahais, as well as many men, and if one wants to be convinced of a very practical side of the Revelation, they should see the improvement in the way of living here. It is more apparent here than anywhere.
- With Bahai greetings, yours in the Great Cause,
- During our recent visit of six weeks with Abdul-Baha, in Ramleh, Egypt, the words of Jesus to His disciples—“If ye love Me, keep My commands.” . . . “He that hath My Commandments and keepeth them, he it is that loveth Me”—were forcibly brought to our minds, by the following incident:
- One day, the Editor of an American Journal, in an interview with Abdul-Baha asked, “Have you many followers in America?” Abdul-Baha replied, “I have a few friends in different cities who love Me.” It is needless to say that those words, together with what was said to us afterwards by Abdul-Baha scorched our very souls, and caused us to halt and put the question squarely to ourselves, “Are we Abdul-Baha's friends? Have we obeyed implicitly His Commands?”
- When we left New York last January for Egypt, we carried with us many supplications and earnest entreaties from sincere and loving souls, begging us to ask Abdul-Baha for a final word as to his wish in connection with the Mashrak-el-Azkar saying, that many demands were being made upon them for money to support other enterprises which were represented as of equal importance as the Mashrak-el-Azkar; that they were in a state of perplexity and uncertainty as to their duty in this important matter.
- Abdul-Baha said, “When you return to America, call together those sincere souls who have asked this question and say: The most important thing in this day is the speedy erection of this Edifice (the Mashrak-el-Azkar). Its mystery is great and can not be unveiled just yet. In the future it will be made plain. I want everyone left free to act as he wills. If anyone wishes to put money into other things, let him do so. Do not interfere with him in any way. But be assured, the most important thing at this time is the building of the Mashrak-el-Azkar.”
- P. S.—A Tablet recently received by Mr. Mountfort Mills contains the following: “Announce on my behalf my warmest greetings to Mr. Howell, and say, The Mashrak-el-Azkar of Chicago is of the greatest importance. This is a Bahai Temple, a supreme House of Worship, a place of spiritual gathering and of the manifestation of Divine Mysteries. The friends of God must endeavor with all their hearts and souls that this structure may be raised and completed.”
- Our Persian section this issue contains: (1) Copies of recent Tablets to the STAR OF THE WEST; (2) copy of latest Tablet to the American Assemblies, reiterating the conditions requisite for Abdul-Baha's coming to America. B.—This Tablet will be incorporated in the Convention Report to be printed in the English section of issue No. 4.—ED]; sending of petition to Abdul-Baha, signed by hundreds of the friends, supplicating him to visit America; (4) outline of the purposes of the First Universal Races Congress to be held in London, Eng., in July, at which noteworthy gathering a paper from the pen of Abdul-Baha, especially written for the occasion, is to be read; (5) short synopsis of the work of the Second International Congress of Mothers recently held in Washington, D. C. and suggestion to the Persian women to organize mothers' clubs; (6) quotation from an article by a Mohammedan Mullah, advocating toleration of all religions in Persia; (7) description of the port of Bandare Jaz, Persia, and the martyrdom of one of the beloved friends in a nearby town; (8) photograph of the Bahais in Bandare Jaz; (9) editorial on the true greatness of a nation; (10) opening of the Third Bahai Convention in Chicago for the consideration of matters pertaining to the Mashrak-el-Azkar; (11) donation of $10,000,000 to the Cause of Universal Peace and $25,000,000 to the Carnegie Institute of Washington, D. C., by Mr. Andrew Carnegie.
- Be thou happy! Be thou happy! Shouldst thou continue to remain firm and eternal, ere long, thou shalt become the Star of the East and shalt spread in every country and clime. Thou art the first paper of the Bahais which is organized in the country of America. Although for the present thy subscribers are limited, thy form is small and thy voice weak, yet shouldst thou stand unshakable, become the object of the attention of the friends and the center of the generosity of the leaders of the faith who are firm in the Covenant, in the future thy subscribers will become hosts after hosts like unto waves of the sea; thy volume will increase, thy arena will become vast and spacious and thy voice and fame will be raised and become world-wide—and at last thou shalt become the first paper of the world of humanity. Yet all these depend upon firmness, firmness, firmness!

- Referring to the circular letter enclosed in a late number of the BAHAI NEWS, outlining the plan for a petition for Inter-Assembly Unity, observed during the Bahai Fast (March 2-20, inclusive) and followed by a supplication to be sent to Abdul-Baha, bearing the signatures of as many of the friends as possible, begging that he come to America:
- We beg to advise that the response to this call was gratifying, and the prayer seems to have been quite generally observed. Signatures were received from all parts of the country, with many words of appreciation and co-operation. The supplication has been duly prepared, signatures attached to the number of more than 850, and the petition is on its way to Abdul-Baha.
- The Committee desires to express its appreciation of the hearty response, and if we can in any further way serve the cause of Inter-Assembly Unity, we are at the command of the friends, and can be reached through the Secretary.

- BOSTON, MASS.—One of the most delightful evenings the Bahá Assembly of Boston has known was that on which the Feast of Naurooz was held on March 21st. Prof. Singh, the distinguished Hindoo professor, with his wife, were guests, and a Persian in Mirza Raffie Esphahani, a Mohammedan, his friend, a, Jew, a Swede and others, made the Feast distinctly one of Unity of Nations and Religions. Mrs. Alice Ives Breed, Chairman of the Feast Committee, presided with dignity and grace at the tables decked with flowers and fruits. Fine music was enjoyed, both vocal and instrumental, kindly furnished by musicians who were friends of some of the Baha'is, and selections from the Bahai literature were read by different members. Altogether forty-nine were present.

- WASHINGTON, D. C.—The Washington Assembly greatly enjoyed a visit from Miss Grace Robarts, of the Boston Assembly, who spent several days with us recently.
- The Feast of Naurooz was given on March 21st, at the home of Mrs. M. C. Hotchkiss, in Kendall Green. Her charming daughters assisted her in dispensing
graceful hospitality. Eloquent speeches, a beautifully decorated table extending the full length of the room laden with candelabra, floral decorations and a large and interested assembly combined to make this occasion a complete success. Thus the New Year began under most inspiring auspices.
- On Wednesday, March 22d, a surprise farewell reception was tendered to Mr. Louis G. Gregory, by the colored believers. More than fifty of these believers and invited guests were present. This was in connection with the regular Wednesday meeting, held at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Dyer—the latter is the “Lydia” of the work among the colored people in Washington, her house being always open for the meetings.
- Mr. Gregory was given the seat of honor, at the head of the long table, and his chair was surmounted by a horse-shoe of flowers. While refreshments were being served, speeches were made by a number, including Dr. W. B. Evans, Principal of the Armstrong Manual Training School; Judge Gibbs, former U. S. Consul to Madagascar; Professor W. H. H. Hart, of Howard University; Professor G. W. Cook, of Harvard University; Mr. Edward J. Braithwaite; Mr. Duffield; Miss Murrell, of the faculty of Armstrong Manual Training School; Miss Grace Robarts; Mrs. Claudia S. Coles; Mr. Charles Mason Remey; Professor Stanwood Cobb; Mr. and Mrs. Hannen. Mr. Gregory responded in a feeling manner to the good wishes expressed. He sailed from New York, March 25th.
- Signatures to the Inter-Assembly Unity Supplication to Abdul-Baha, have been received from all directions, and the supplication has been forwarded in line with the original plan. We take this opportunity of acknowledging many fraternal greetings sent with the slips.
- The Washington friends are rejoiced to welcome back Mrs. Fosselman and Mrs. Charles H. Glines, together with her two daughters, Ruth and Helen, who have been absent, the former for several months, the latter more than a year.
- Mrs. Louisa Ruddiman, of Goblesville, Michigan, passed into the fuller life April 4th, while visiting among the friends in Chicago. Self sacrificing and devoted to the Cause, she has unquestionably attained the glorious station promised those who “endure unto the end.”

این جریده بر حسب تاریخ بهائی هر نوزده روز چاپ و توزیع میگردد و در نهایت آزادی در مسائل یگانگی بشر و وحدت ادیان و ترقیّات عصر و انتشار علوم و فنون این قرن جدید و تربیت اطفال و پیشرفت امر حضرت بهاء الله در اطراف جهان و توضیح حقائق این دین عمومی خواهد نوشت و مقالات مفید که موافق سبک اداره است قبول و نشر خواهد گردید :

حضرت عبدالبهاء دوباره در این ایّام اداره نجم باختر را به انوار الواح مبارکه منوّر فرموده و سبب افتخار و مباهات این خادمین گردیده و اگر مدیران این جریدۀ محقرّ تا دامنۀ قیامت شکر و سپاس این عنایات الهی را بنمایند باز از عهده بر نخواهند آمد . قوله و قوله الاحلی : « نامۀ جدیدی به مدیران نجم باختر مرقوم گردید ترجمه فرموده برسانید حجم روزنامه انشاء الله همان قسم که مرقوم نموده اید خواهد گشت و مکاتیب مفصّله عمومی عبدالبهاء که تجرّد نصائح و تربیت است بسیار بتدریج در نجم باختر درج نمائید و منبعد آنچه مکاتیب مفصّله نیز برسد درج خواهید نمود و انشاء الله عدد مشترکین زیاد خواهد شد .

هوالله ای مدیران نجم باختر نامۀ شما رسید و همّت شما معلوم گردید امیدوارم که روز بروز بر همّت بیفزایید و این جریده را اهمیّت دهید زیرا بتدریج ترقیّ نماید و بدرجۀ مطلوب رسد و مکاتیب مفصّلۀ عبدالبهاء که در نصائح و تربیت صدور یافته بسیار است بخواهید درج بنمائید جائز و منبعد آنچه مکاتیب مفصّله مرقوم میشود یک نسخه ارسال میگردد و علیکم البهاء الابهی ع ع .
سفر حضرت عبدالبهاء به امریک
در شماره های قبل نجم باختر شرحی در این باب نوشته شد و الواح مبارک درج گردید . حال لوح مفصّل جدیدی که در این هفته به افتخار جمیع مجامع بهائیان امریکا دریافت شده با ترجمۀ آن در این شماره ثبت میشود . در سرلوح حضرت من اراده الله این عبارات را بخط خود مرقوم فرموده : این نامه را بکمال سرعت ترجمه نمائید و با اصل طبع کنید و انتشار دهید .

امریکا . احبّاء و اماء رحمن علیهمّ و علیهنّ البهاء الابهی
هوالله
ای یاران و اماء رحمن چون پادشاه مخلوع عثمانیان عبدالحمید به ظلم و طغیان قیام نمود عبدالبهاء در قلعۀ عکا محصور و در تحت تسلط پلیس و جاسوس و مراقب به نهایت تضییق افتاد بالکلیّه قطع مراوده شد و منع مخابره گردید زیرا هر نفسی نزدیک خانه می آمد او را مؤاخذه مینمودند بلکه تهدید شدید میکردند تا کار بدرجۀ رسید که باین قناعت ننمود بلکه به هیئت تفتیشیّه ظالمه فرستاد تا بانواع حیل و خداع و دسیسه و افترا اثبات جرمی در حقّ عبدالبها کنند و به دار زند یا بدر زند یا در صحرای فیزان بی نام و نشان نماید و این هیئت ظالمه هر ظلمی مجری داشت و هر جفائی سزاوار داشت عاقبت قرار بر آن شد که عبدالبهاء را ارسال فیزان نمایند . و چون مخابره به قصر عبدالحمید کردند جواب آمد که قصبۀ فیزان بامر پادشاهی مقرّر گشت . پس آن هیئت تفتیشیّه ظالمه مراجع به اسلامبول نمود در وسط دریا بود که توپ خدا در دم قصر عبدالحمید صدا نمود و دینامیت منفجر گشت جمعی کشته گشتند و عبدالحمید به قصر خویش فرار نمود و بلایا و مشاکل بر او متتابع گشت و وقایع و مصائب پیاپی شد لهذا فرصت اذیّت عبدالبهاء نیافت و هیجان عمومی گشت و منتهی به خلع او شد و با قدرت الهیّه زنجیر سجن یوسفی را از گردن عبدالبهاء برداشت و سلاسل و اغلال بر گردن نامبارک عبدالحمید گذاشت فاعتبروا یا اولی الابصار و عبدالبهاء در نهایت اقتدار از ارض سجن باقلیم مصر شتافت الحمدلله بعون و عنایت جمال مبارک به مجرّد ورود اسکندریّه اعلاء کلمة الله شد و آهنگ ملکوت ابهی بلند گشت . جمیع جرائد مقالات متعدّده نوشته بعضی نهایت ستایش نمودند و بعضی فریاد برآوردند که ورود این شخص باین بلاد زلزله بر ارکان دین افکند و سبب توهین قواعد و آداب قدیم شود زیرا بهر نفسی رسد او را منجذب نماید و در هر محفلی دم بگشاید سبب تصدیق منکرین گردد و هنوز جرائد مقالات

مفصّله مینگارند تا چه شود .
حال از یاران امریک و اماء رحمن مکاتیب متعدّده میرسد و جمیع خواهش سفر عبدالبهاء به امریکا نمایند و نهایت اصرار و الحاح میفرمایند ولی با وجود اختلاف یاران و عدم اتّحاد اماء رحمن چگونه عبدالبهاء به آن صفحات شتابد آیا این ممکن است لاوالله اگر یاران و اماء رحمن مشتاق دیدار عبدالبهاء هستند باید فورا اختلاف آراء را از میان بردارند و بنهایت الفت و اتّحاد پردازند از بهائی نفسی به مذمّت دیگری لب نگشاید و غیبت را اعظم خطا در عالم انسانی داند زیرا در جمیع الواح بهاء الله مصرّح است که غیبت و بدگوئی از دسائس و وساوس شیطانی است و هادم بنیان انسانی شخص مؤمن مذمّت نفسی از بیگانگان نکند تا چه رسد از آشنایان و غیبت دشمن ننماید تا چه رسد به مذمّت دوست ، بدگوئی و غیبت صفت سقیم الافکار است نه ابرار و خودپسندی از خصائص اغیار است نه یار ما را امید چنان است که احبّاء و اماء رحمن در امریک سبب اتّحاد شرق و غرب گردند و علم وحدت عالم انسانی برافرازند حال ملاحظه مینمائیم که در میان خود احبّاء و اماء رحمن بیگانگی است و عدم اتّحاد و نهایت اختلاف باوجود این چگونه به هدایت من علی الارض برخیزند و سبب اتّحاد و اتّفاق من علی الارض گردند حضرت مسیح خطاب به حواریین میفرماید که شما نمک روی زمین هستید اگر نمک فاسد گردد عالم وجود بچه چیز نمکین گردد باری ای یاران و اماء رحمن اگر مشتاق ملاقاتید و فی الحقیقه طالب دیدار باید باب اختلاف را به بندید و ابواب الفت و محبّت و یگانگی بگشائید حکم یک جان و دل یابید مانند امواج دریا هرچند به تعداد آید ولی از یک بحر باشند .
ای یاران و اماء رحمن الحمدلله ماهیان یک دریائید و مرغان یک گلشنید و اشجار یک بوستانید و گلهای یک جنّتید دیگر این اختلاف و عدم ائتلاف چرا و از چه جهت است براستی میگویم اگر این اختلاف در میان شما نبود حال اهالی امریک در جمیع آن اقالیم منجذب به ملکوت الله بودند و معین و ظهیر شما بودندآیا سزاوار است که این موهبت کبری فدای یک خیالات بی سر و پا گردد لا والله اگر ادنی تفکرّ نمائید فورا این اختلاف را از میان براندازید وزبان از غیبت یکدیگرقطع خواهید نمود بلکه در نهایت محبّت و الفت محفل سرور بیارائید و بزم شادمانی فراهم آرید و جشن وحدت عالم انسانی ترتیب دهید و زبان به ستایش یکدیگر بگشائید و منتظر قدم عبدالبهاء میگردید و از این گذشته بعضی از ناقضین در میان شما خفیّا

آمده اند و اظهار ثبوت نموده و مینمایند و بانواع دسائس و حیل میان شما را فساد و فتنه می اندازند تا از انوار میثاق الهی محروم نمایند و در ظلمات نقض مبتلا کنند آیا این سزاوار است که ناقضین چنین دامی بنهند و مثل شما ثابتین را صید نمایند و شما مشغول باختلاف مابین باشید . از خدا خواهم که موفقّ به اتّحاد و یگانگی گردید و سبب وحدت عالم انسانی شوید و بموجب تعالیم الهی سلوک و حرکت نمائید از جمیع تعلقّات عالم بشری تجردّ یابید و بصفات رحمانی متصفّ شوید از جهان ناسوت بگذرید نفوسی ملکوتی شوید و اشخاصی لاهوتی گردید و ملائکه آسمانی شوید و علیکم البهاء الابهی ع ع .
در لوح دیگر میفرماید : اگر احبّای الهی چنانچه باید و شاید در نیویورک و سایر مدن امریکا اتّحاد و اتّفاق روحی و لسانی و قلبی و جسمانی نمایند بغتته عبدالبهاء را در میان خویش بینند تا اتّحاد در بین یاران حاصل نگردد نفثات روح القدس تأثیر نکند زیرا جسد باید استعداد پیدا کند تا روح در او دمیده شود اگر موهبت وحدت یاران و الفت دوستان جلوه نماید از نفحات طیّبه جنّت ابهی در شرق و غرب امریکا معطرّ شود و مشرق الاذکار بلند گردد و فیوضات شمس حقیقت بتابد و عزّت ابدیّه یاران الهی جلوه نماید و حیات آسمانی حصول پذیرد . در لوح دیگر میفرماید : در خصوص اشتیاق بهائیان امریک بحضور عبدالبهاء مرقوم نموده بودید انشاء الله همچنانکه مرقوم نموده بودید اگر اتّحاد و اتّفاق تامّ بین احباب حاصل شود شاید تقدیر موافق تدبیر گردد . از یومی که حضرت عبدالبهاء از سجن اعظم به اقلیم مصر حرکت فرموده اند بهائیان مجامع امریکا از هر سمتی متصّل عرایض به حضور مبارک در باب سفر آن قمر عهد و پیمان به این مملکت عرض نمودند و در نهایت خلوص از صمیم قلب دعوت کردند تا آنکه بتدریج الواحی وصول یافت و شروط این سفر معلوم و مفهوم گشت لهذا کمیتۀ اتّحاد بین المجامع تشکیل یافت و این کمیته از مرکز واشنگتن به تألیف قلوب و تشجیع و تحریض یاران به محبّت و یگانگی مشغول گردید و هر یک را در ماه صیام به دعا و مناجات بدرگاه قاضی الحاجات ترغیب نمود و پس از اتمام ماه صیام عریضۀ که بمهر صد ها صد ها یاران امریکا رسیده حاضر کرد و فحوای آن عریضه بر دعوت رسمی حضرت عبدالبهاء به امریکا و عهد و پیمان وحدت و یگانگی بود و حال دو سه هفته است که این عریضه بحضور حضرت عبدالبهاء فرستاده شده است و فی الحقیقه حاضر نمودن و ارسال داشتن چنین عریضه احبّای الهی را مائده آسمانی بود زیرا جمیع را متحدّ الفکر بر خوان یگانگی و فرزانگی نشاند و آثار دوری و غبار را محمو نمود و امیدواریم

که نتایج روحانی این وحدت جدید عالمگیر گردد محبوب مشتاقان بر اهالی این ممالک جلوه نماید انوار اخوّت جهان بشر طلوع کند و آوازۀ طیور حنّت ابهی بلند گردد و سبوح قدّوس بلبلان حدیقۀ پیمان قلوب صافیه را در سموات روح پرواز دهد

Englandدر روز چهارشنبه 29 ماه رجب 1329 محفلی عظیم از نمایندگان ملل در شهر لندن فراهم خواهد آمد که چشم جهان مثل و مانندش را ندیده است این انجمن موسوم به اوّل کنگرۀ عمومی نژاد های عالم است و یکی از بزرگترین علائم نورانی قوّۀ اتّحاد و اتّفاق است که عموما ملل شرق و غرب را از جمیع جهات بهمدیگر نزدیکتر و مهربانتر نموده و خواهد نمود نمایندگان جمیع ملل و نژادهای جهان در این انجمن چند روزی جمع شده و برحسب پروگرام در مسائل وحدت بشر تربیت عمومی لسان عمومی صلح عامّ آزادی افکار ایجاد روابط مستحکم مابین باشنده گان خاور و باختر اقتصاد حکومت و غیره و غیره صحبت نموده مشورت خواهند نمود و نطاقین فصیح و متکلمّین بلیغ هر ملتّی خطابۀ در باب مملکت و تمدّن و طریق ملتّ خود ادا خواهد کرد مؤسّسین دوربین این اوّلین مجلس مشورت بنی نوع انسان از بزرگان و اکابر پنجاه مملکت منتخب و از پنج سال گذشته در نهایت همّت و جلالت برای فراهم آوردن این انجمن کبری زحمت میکشیده اند و جنابان مؤیّد الاسلام مدیر جریدۀ حبل المتین و آقای حاجی میرزا یحیی در صف اوّل این خیر خواهان محسوبند . هیئت محترمه انجمن دارای سی رئیس پارلمان های ملل مختلفه و اکثریّت اعضاء عدالتخانۀ بین المللی و نمایندگان دوم کنفرانس صلح لاهی و دوازده فرمانفرماهای انگلیسی و هشت صدراعظم های انگلیسی و چهل اساقفه ممالک شرقی انگلیس و صد وسی پروفسورهای قانون بین المللی و بسیار از علماء و فضلا و فلاسفه دول شرق و غرب است . نطاقین مجلس از میان ملل مختلفه منتخب شده و از بیست تمدّن های قدیم و جدید گفتگو خواهند نمود و اغلب متکلمین شرقی که از السن غرب بهره ندارند مترجمین ماهر خطابه های آنها را ترجمه و بگوش حضّار خواهند رسانید .

در این موقع ما آدرس منشی مجلس را در این ورقه درج مینمائیم که هرکس مایل است رأسا باو نوشته و پروگرام و اوراق کنگره مجّانا نزد او فرستاده خواهد شد : آدرس :
جمیع ملل جهان چون چین و ژاپن و ایران و عثمانی و افریقا و استرالیا و امریکا و کانادا و فرانسه و انگلیس و آلمان و ایتالیا و غیره و غیره نمایندگان معتبر باین محفل خواهند فرستاد و چنین امیدوارم که ملتّ ایران هم بقدر قوّه خود نمایندگان و وکلاء خواهند فرستاد چون این مسئله ایست ملیّ هر انجمن هر محفلی چه سیاسی چه معرفتی چه علمی چه روحانی میتواند وکیلی بفرستد ایرانیان باید از توی جلد بلغار دو سه هزار ساله بیرون آیند و اغراضات دینی و نوعی و شخصی را دور اندازند براوضاع جهان آگاه گردند با سائر ملل سرو کله زنند و افق افکار را از ابرهای متراکمۀ خودپرستی پاک و مطهرّ نمایند تا در حوضۀ ملل حیّه متمدّنه قبول گردند و در طرق آزادی و حریّت حقیقی مشی کنند ولی بزرگترین نقطه و مهم ترین نکتۀ این اوّل انجمن نژادهای عالم آنکه بر حسب دعوت نامه کمیتۀ اجرائیّه آن حضرت عبدالبهاء در روز پنجشنبه 22 رجب خطابۀ در حضور آن محفل نوع بشر در باب امر بهاء الله ادا خواهند فرمود و در پروگرام کنگره که هفته گذشته باین اداره رسید اسم مرکز میثاق ثبت شده است ( 1)
اثر و نفوذ این کنگره که بدون شکّ و تردید تحققّ تعالیم و نوامیس حضرت بهاء الله است بی حدّ و حصر خواهد بود و فهم عظمت آن از قوّه عقل بشری خارج است زیرا این بار اوّل است که در مرکز غرب مردمان شرق و غرب و جنوب و شمال از چهار گوشۀ جهان در یک قصر وحدت جمع خواهند شد و دست اخوّت و برادری بهمدیگر خواهند داد خیمۀ یگانگی و فرزانگی را بلند خواهند نمود و علم مشورت و محبّت را بر اعلاء قلل آفاق خواهند کوفت . همچنین انسان حیوان میماند که حضرت عبدالبهاء چگونه بکنه آنها به نشر امرالله و تبلیغ نفحات الله قیام فرموده و زلزله بر آفاق انداخته است
سفر مبارک حضرت عبدالبهاء به لندن محققّ نیست ولی خطابه نازل فرمودند و فرستاده شد تا در آن محفل عظیم تلاوت شود

ملاحظه فرمائید قوّه امرالله بچه نقطۀ رسیده که حضرت مولی الوری ندای دین الهی را از لندن که بزرگترین و متمدّن ترین شهرهای جهان است به گوش عالمیان خواهند رساند و ولوله در اطباق ارض خواهد انداخت و نمایندگان ملل و وکلاء نژادهای جهان را خاضع و خاشع خواهد فرمود و ارکان فلاسفه و کملیّن اروپ را متزلزل خواهد نمود . حال دوباره ایرانیان را یاد آوری مینمائیم که در این موقع که دول غرب از تعالیم و نصائح این امر اعظم فوائد کبیره میبرند و وجود خود را بطراز آداب انسانیّت و صفات بهائی آرایش میدهند و از حضرت عبدالبهاء به اعظم ترین انجمن های دنیا وعده میگیرند و باین هیکل مکرّم و روح مجسمّ افتخار و مباهات مینمایند خوب است ماها قدری چشم های خود را باز کنیم گوشهایمان را شنوا نمائیم و بقدر امکان از این مائده سماوی بهره بریم و نگذاریم که بغض و حسد جاهلیّه ما را کور و کر کند و از جادّه حقّ پرستی دور نماید سائر ملل به وجود بزرگان خود ملتّ خود فخر مینمایند ما آنها را نفی بلد نموده و اموالشان را غارت و خونشان را حلال میدانیم ملل غرب روز بروز بر عرفان تعالیم حضرت بهاء الله افزوده از این ماء گوارا مینوشند و ما بی صاحب و بی رهبر در صحرای خشک سرگردان و در عقب سراب فانیه دوانیم . خداوند یکتا شاهد و گواه است که بهائیان دوستدار حقیقی آزادی و استقلال ایرانند و از صمیم قلب ترقیّ و تمدّن آن مملکت را خواهان هرکس چیز دیگری بگوید یا کلافه گیری بریسد از شریعت حقیقت گوئی خارج گشته و در دام وساوس و جهل شیطان برجم افتاده است .
تشکرّ از علمای وطن پرست ایران
در شمارۀ ششم سال هشتم جریدۀ فریدۀ چهره نما نامۀ یکی از علماء عظام طهران درج گردیده و اشاره به محتویّات مقالۀ چهره نما در شماره بیستم سال هفتم نموده اند و انتشار بیانات و عقائد حضرت عبدالبهاء را از خوش اقبالی استقلال ایران دانسته اند و در ضمن مکتوب خود عباراتی بس عالی و کلماتی بس متین مرقوم فرموده که ملتّ ایران باید آنرا با آب طلا بنویسد بر روی کارت پستال چاپ نموده باطراف بفرستند علماء عظام سرمشق اعمال خود فرمایند اطفال در مدارس

حفظ کنند و آنرا قطعه نموده در اطاقها آویزان نمایند تا همیشه در نظر آمده معانی آن در جمجمه ها داخل گردد . چون ما این عبارات را خواندیم بی حدّ سرور و فرح دست داد و شکر الهی را بجای آوردیم که الحمدلله در میان علماء ملتّ نجیب ایران چنین نفس مبارکی پیدا شده است و امیدواریم که روز بروز این نوع علمای روحانی زیاد گردند و ما در نهایت افتخار و شعف آن عبارات پرمعنا را نقل مینمائیم :
اتّحاد و اتّفاق بلا استثنا باید در جنس ایرانی صلای عام در دهد و محافظت و محارست این آب و خاک و استقلال هزاران ساله دولت علیّه ایران یک اتّحاد و اتّفاق عمومی میخواهد که در مقابل مهاجمات اجانب تمام جنس ایرانی از مسلمان و گبر و مجوس و سفرانی و یهودی و علی اللهّی و بابی و بهائی و لامذهبی باید چون سدّ سکندر بایستند و دفاع کرده و دشمنان این آب و خاک را از بلاد اسلامیّه بیرون کنند و گاه فراغت و تأمین و آسایش هرکس به مسجد و معبد گاه خود روند و هر خطشه و خطائی که از کسی سر زد بموجب قانون و محاکم عدلیّه مجازات بیند .
اگر فی الحقیقه معانی بیانات فوق در ایران تحققّ یابد در اندک زمانی آن سرزمین بهشت برین گردد و آن دیار در مدنیّت و علوم غبطۀ روزگار شود و ما امیدواریم که در آینده مقالاتی که اصولش بر اساس عبارات فوق گذارده شده باشد بیشتر از پیش در جرائد یومیّه و هفتگی ایران ظاهر گردد و قلوب قارئین را روشن نموده آن ملتّ در جنّات نعیم تمدّن داخل فرمایند .
انعقاد دوم انجمن بین المللی مادران در واشنگتن
بزرگان غرب بر سر این مسئله متّحدند که اساس تمدّن جدید مادر با عقل و فهم است و مادر جاهل بی علم سبب تقهقر و بربریّت هر ملتّ ، باین جهت چندین سال قبل زنان امریکا انجمنی باسم انجمن مادران انعقاد نموده اند که نسوان و دختران جوان را تکالیف بچّه تربیت کنی و علوم اقتصاد و خانه داری و غیره و غیره یاد دهند و در هر شهر و قریّه شعبۀ از این انجمن تشکیل نموده اند و کتب و لائحه های مختصره ساده چاپ نموده و مجّانا در جمیع خانه ها میفرستند و مادران از محتویّات آن اطلاع یافته اساس مدنیّت حقیقی را تقدیم مینمایند

ادارۀ چاپ این انجمن بقدری مهمّ است که هر سال بیشتر از صدهزار نسخه کتابچه های مختلفه در تکلیف طفل پروری چاپ و در اطراف امریک و سائر ممالک انتشار میدهند و در این هفته دوم انجمن بین المللی خود را با جلال و شکوه زیاد در واشنگتن افتتاح نمودند و یک هفته طول خواهد کشید و نمایندگان سائر ملل در نقل و صحبت شریک خواهند شد هیئت محترمۀ این انجمن مفید تمامش از زنان ترکیب گردیده و چون اعضای آن به هزاران میرسد مجلۀ ماهیانه چاپ و انتشار مینمایند . اگر اهالی ایران طالب فهم کارهای این انجمن هستند دو کلمۀ به ادارۀ نجم باختر نوشته و ما کتب آنها را خواهیم فرستاد تا ترجمه نموده در میان مدارس انتشار دهند زیرا نوشتجات و نشریّات این انجمن نه آنقدر برای حال زنان مفید است که بتوان در این مقام شرح و تفصیل داد . ما را امید چنان است که روزی بیاید که نسوان شرق عموما و زنان ایران خصوصا از نعمات علوم و فنون بهره های وافر برده و مانند خواهران امریکائیشان انجمن مادران تشکیل دهند و با مقاله های شیرین و اصول ساده و آسان تکالیف مهمّۀ دختران را توضیح نمایند تا بوقت خود آن دختران مربّی حقیقی پسران گردند و پسران از برکت علم و دانائی مادران سررشتۀ عقلاء ارض شوند ودر وطن پرستی و خدمت به نوع و مشی در طریق حقیقت و احترام نسوان سرمشق جمیع ملل دنیا گردند یکی از دانایان غرب گفته « دستی که گهواره را باد میدهد بر عالم سلطنت مینماید »
مقالۀ مفید و اخبارات امری از بندر جز
وقایع نگار اداره مینویسد : حمد و ثنا و عظمت کبریا ء ذات پاک جمال اقدس ابهی را شایسته و سزاوار که امر اقدسش را به نیّر اعظم مرکز میثاق روشن و منوّر فرمود و این قصر مشید و حصن حصین امر جدید را بوجود ملیک غیب و شهود متقّن و مؤسّس نمود از درگاه عالم ابنائش سائل و آملیم که به مقام عبودیّت خالص فائز گردیم و در جنّت رضا وارد و بآنچه امر و استعداد و قابلیّت یوم اواست تأملّ و بآنچه سزاوار یوم ظهور و انتساب حقیقی بحبّ او و ایمان و ایقان باوست نائل گردیم ای برادران روحانی و ای عزیزان نورانی الحمدلله شماها از همه جهت مستغنی میباشید در میدان خدمت و نصرت گوی سبقت و پیشی را از میدان

یاران شرقی ربوده اید و در نشر نفحات الله و اعلاء کلمة الله و انفاق فی سبیل الله کوتاهی نکرده و نمیفرمائید و دائما مورد توجّه عنایات حضرت مقصود هستید لهذا این فانیان بائیان بندر جز دست بدامان آن برادران غربی میزنیم شاید از توجّهات خالصانه آن مفتونان جمال رحمن و ثابتان عهد و میثاق حضرت سبحان و مقرّبان بارگاه ملیک یزدان موفقّ بخدمات لایقه در این یوم مبارک عزیزمنّان شویم . باری چون این مکتوب اوّل است جای و مکان خود را بحضور شماها معرّفی مینمایم . این بلد بندر جز است و یکی از بنادر معتبر بحر خزر محسوب و در کنار مازندران واقع . یکطرف دریاست که کشتی آتشی دو شبانه روز به بادکوبه میرود و از سه طرفی خشکی طرفی به مازندران و طهران میرود طرفی باسترآباد و خراسان میرود و طرفی هم بمیان تراکمه و عشق آباد و ترکستان . سی سال قبل این بندر وجود نداشت ولی قلعۀ جز که فعلا یک فرسخی این بلد واقع است بود . بواسطۀ اینکه این ایّام ایّام سعید است و این قرن قرن ربّ مجید و این عصر حیّ حمید و تمام صنایع در این دوره بحیّز شهود میرسد و بواسطۀ مراودۀ کشتی های آتشی از روسیّه به ایران و اطراف بحر خزر در این کنار که قبل به کنارگز معروف بود چند خانه و منزل بنا مینمایند ودولت هم گمرک خانۀ جزئی یعنی خانه های جزئی میسازد ولی کسی گمان آنکه اینجا ترقیّ خواهد کرد نداشت تا آنکه بمرور ایّام کم کم ترقیّ نموده است و در اینجا کارخانه های متعدّد پنبه پاک کنی ساخته اند و فعلا یکی از بنادر معتبر بحر خزر است و تجّار معتبر که محلّ رجوعات خلق هستند بهائی هستند . در اوّل مبادله پوسته بین دول خارجه با این بندر نبود ولی حال چند سال است مبادله برقرار شده . در این بندر علم میثاق بلند است وعدد بهائیان بسیار و الحمدلله کلّ از جام میثاق سرمست و از بادۀ محبّت الله سرشار و در خدمت و عبودیّت بنوع خویش از یکدیگر سبقت میگیرند چونکه این شهر کنار است و رفت و آمد مبّلغین کم است لهذا از بعضی نقاط ایران و روسیّه و پورت سعید همه هفته تعلیقه جات یاران میرسد و از حالات یاران حقیقی بواسطۀ مکاتیب باخبر میشویم . واقعۀ تازه که در این نزدیکی برای ما بیچارگان رخ داد آنکه شهر کوچکی اشرف نام در نزدیکی این بندر واقع است و طول مسافت شش فرسخ است چند نفر بهائی آنجا هستند از آنجمله آقا میرزا عزیز الله خان دکتر رودسری که مدّتی در آنجا تشریف داشتند و باین اسم معروف بودند و خیلی خیلی وجود مبارک مشتعل منجذبی بودند حکومت وحشی تازه بواسطۀ تقدّس

و تحریک علماء سوء آنجا بدست خود ایشان را شهید مینماید از قرّه تپّه که یک فرسنگی اشرف و در کنار دریا واقع است رئیس گمرک میرزا حسین خان شرح این واقعۀ محزنه را مفصّل باینجا مرقوم نمودند عین رقیمه ایشان را سواد نمود لفا ارسال داشتم تا ملاحظۀ ظلم و شقاوت را بفرمائید و مطلعّ باشید که هنوز این خلق وحشی دست از ظلم بر نمیدارند با وجود آنکه چند سال است حقّ آنها را بمکافات خود گرفتار نموده باز هم از شقاوت قلب نمی فهمند و از اینجا به مجلس ملیّ تلگراف نمودیم و به محفل روحانی هم عریضه عرض شده ولی گمان نیست که کسی بداد کسی برسد زیرا اینقدر احبّای حصار و خراسان را ظلم نمودند و بهر جا هم عارض شدند و خودشان هم به طهران رفتند ولی نتیجه و ثمری نبخشید و کسی بداد مظلومان نرسید باری چند روز است بواسطۀ خبر شهادت آقای میرزا عزیزالله خان مفسدین میخواهند فساد نمایند ولی در اینجا کاری نمیتوانند بکنند زیرا بحمدلله از دست مجتهدین و علماء سوء آزادیم زیرا باعث تمام فساد های عالم اینها هستند احبّای این بلد مشهور هستند و در کوچه و بازار به کلمۀ الله ابهی گویایند و همه کس مشرق الاذکار بهائیان را میداند و شب های مجلس ده نفر بیست نفر اغیار می آیند و با وجود این خبر وحشت اثر مفسدین دوستان و محبّان مشتعل تر گردیده و به میدان فداکاری قدم گذارده و در ایثار جان بیشتر از پیش حاضرند ماها امیدواریم که حقّ جلّ جلاله کلّ را به ید قدرت از امتحانات حفظ کند هرچند قلوب منیر آن یاران مکدّر میشود و دل مبارکتان از قرائت این احوالات خواهد سوخت ولی محض آنکه بدانید برادران ایرانی شما هنوز در بحر بلایا مستغرق و در چنگال گرگان درّنده گرفتارند این مکتوب نوشته شد .

نجم باختر : شهادت و بزرگی هر نفس بسته به خدمت او به نوع انسان است و نیکی هر ملتّی منوط به عدالت و منصفت افراد آن ملتّ است هرقدر افراد ملتّ عالم تر حلیم تر و با محبّت ترند هیئت جامعه روز بروز بیشتر ترقیّ خواهد نمود ولی اگر خدای نخواسته افراد ملتّ در بحر جهالت و ظلم مستغرقند و در دام استبداد و خودپرستی گرفتار مذلتّ و اسارت آن ملتّ معلوم و انهدام آن نمایان .
انعقاد سوم مجلس عمومی بهائی در شیکاغو :
فردا که 29 ماه آوریل است سوم مجلس عمومی نمایندگان مجامع بهائی امریک برای ساختن مشرق الاذکار در شیکاغو جمع خواهند شد و از وحدت بشر و مسائل مربوطه به معبد الهی صحبت خواهند نمود . این مجلس عمومی چهار روز جلسه هایش طول خواهد کشید و مبعوثان همدیگر را در اجراء خدمات امری و استحکام روابط اتّحاد و اتّفاق تشویق و تحریص خواهند نمود .
کارنگی ملیونر امریکائی و اعانۀ او به صلح عمومی
چند ماه قبل ملیونر مشهور مستر کارنگی که تا بحال 200 ملیون دلار برای ساختن مدارس و کتابخانه ها و مریضخانه ها و غیره و غیره انفاق ملتّ نموده است ده ملیون دلار بجهت برقرار نمودن صلح بین المللی در دست سیاسیّون دوربین محترمی گذارد که این هیئت منفعت سالینه این ده ملیون که یک کرور تومان است بایست خرج پیشرفت امر صلح عام نمایند و حال این هیئت ادارۀ خود را مرتبّ و در شهر واشنگتن مشغول بانجام امور مهمّه اند همچنین مشارالیه بتازگی پنجاه کرور تومان برای پیشرفت علوم و فنون و اختراعات و انکشافات قوای طبیعیّه کنار گذارده و برای این خدمت بزرگ عمارت مرمری در واشنگتن بنا نموده که اجزاء هریک بکاری و اختراعی مألوف است .
