Usage: {{sic|error|correction}}
Template:Sic allows proofreaders to preserve errors that may have appeared in a document while also noting the correct spelling/meaning for the purpose of accuracy and search.
When this template is used on a page the option to view the correction, original or both is provided at the bottom of a page. For example, navigate to the very bottom of Baha'i News/Issue 272/Text and select "Show both corrections and original text". Navigate through the document again to see where errors in the original were corrected by editors. Users can choose to view the original or corrected versions also. These flags are controlled by MediaWiki:Common.js (see /* ADD ORIGINAL/CORRECTIONS VIEW */)
- Example, to correct:
- Hands of te Cause
- To:
- Hands of the Cause
- Use
- Hands of {{sic|te|the}} Cause
