Let's join the children. Hello, children! Hello, Mr. Sears. Oh, gee it's wonderful to be with all of you and I'm sure we're going to have a marvelous journey together to Persia, to the land of the birth of the Bahai Faith called the Cradle of our Faith. The Bab was born there, Bahaullah was born there, and the early heroes and heroines, of course is a story that we're going to hear about the Dawn Breakers, how our faith began right from the beginning. Our beloved Guardian Shoghi Effendi said that all Americans should read these wonderful stories, that it would inspire them in their private lives, in their arts and in their literature, and that these stories would even bring hope and encouragement to a sad and disillusioned world so you can see how important they are, what an exciting time we're going to have together. You know, I had the great joy of going to Persia and visiting many of these historic places we're going to hear about so every now and then I've added a little story that I remembered myself from the Dawn Breakers and my only a few, but they were so beautiful but i thought they make you eager to read the big book that don breakers as soon as you're growing up enough an old enough at wonderful treasure house of wonders and work. So let's begin our magical, wonderful journey to the land where the high faith was born, where the herald of the faith was born and its founder for how a lot where they grew up his children until finally the day arrives when the whole world was made different in half a year because of them. So are you ready ? I remember these are two story, but even so, i thought it would be very nice if we could feel as though we were sailing off from america 2 persia on a magic carpet and landing gently in the land of the cradle of our faith. Now, perhaps you wouldn't think it was a secret at all because it was written in a book and everybody could read it. But those who did read it didn't understand just what it meant, of course, shake i'm at understood because he had studied this book a great deal, and he prayed to understand and the secret he found there, and that book made him so happy that he wanted to tell everyone about it. A very great teacher, like jesus and mama, you know, we we only know a little bit about god because he's, so much greater than we are in so very wonderful. Sometimes we're so busy taking care of ourselves and having a good time, but we don't even think about god, we forget that we wouldn't even be alive if god didn't give us life. So once in a while, god sends one of these divine teachers, one of these wonderful people do the earth to remind people about himself god and these teachers are like him, yeah, his qualities, and they show us exactly how god would like to have us live here on her. Jesus was one of these teachers. Some of us know about him and have have read about him in the bible. You know, there's no about muhammad, and i've read about him in the correct no, it was in the karan which mom at road long ago, that chick on med read about the new teacher was coming. This is chapter two and this story is called the young man in the green you remember the story of shake on who traveled all around the country telling the people that god was sending them a new teacher and how when check on that died he left said cousin to carry on his work and just spread that great news of the coming of the promise one perhaps that word say it may seem strange that means a member of the family of mama that other great teacher who gave us the garage of course mama lived many years before that but older men who were later born in that family we're called say it it was a great honor to be related to mom it even if it was many many years later here is another thing that said cousin told the people he said this divine teacher god had promise was living among them at that very time perhaps he say he was even living right near where they live and they didn't even know it well you can imagine how surprised me where to hear that kind of news and how they must have talked about it and with each other and wondered who he was where the promised one with how they could meet him and if you and i had been there too i think we'd have wondered wouldn't we i know i sure would have liked to have met him if i've been there and i just looked around plenty too you know what strange but when god sends a new divine teacher to here to remind people god only a few million at first i just think they may see him on the street or in the shrine where he goes to pray and still not know him at all because their hearts are not full of love and hoping they're not looking for it and some of them i'm afraid i don't know him because they're so busy thinking about themselves, they just don't have time for it. Of course, there are many others who who are not like and their hearts already because they are expecting him and said causing was one of those and he was spending his whole life trying to prepare the other people to know the promised one when they saw him. Well, i don't think everybody would do that to you, it's no wonder everybody loved the bob even when he was a little boy, they must have loved it because he could never be. I'm kind of anyone in the world needs that next time we're going to hear how the bob help the world become a better place and it's something that we can help with, too, yeah.

This is chapter seven and the story is called the bob's messengers you remember we heard in another story about those eighteen persons would found the bob. What do they call them ? Write letters of the living you know, you send a letter with good news ? Well, these were like living letters, and they were carrying the good news for the word of god everywhere. They were sort of like a a teaching committee. Only something of course, much more exalted and better than that, like a traveling teacher such as your your mother and your father are on holidays and weekends or your brothers and sisters. And maybe soon you will be too well. These were the very first of the great traveling teachers of the faith and they were called the letters of the living. Now the bob thought it was time for all of them to scatter all over the land until the people that the promised wanted come, that it was a new day. So one day the bob call them all together to talk with them. It's sort of like a conference. Well, hussein was the first to be called in the bomb and because the bob lovemore hussein so much he told him just a tiny bit about something very wonderful that was going to happen to him to more of the same a little later on motor hussein was to go too many cities to teach the faith and to give his message and then he was to go to a great city cold tehran the bob said a secret lies hidden in that city and when it is manifest it will turn the earth paradise you see, the bob didn't tell mom hussein what that wonderful thing was that he would find in tehran but more hussein knew it must be something very beautiful if it was going to turn the earth into a parent dies i mean, wouldn't you think so ? That means make it like heaven, and later you'll find out what this great secret was that all of those same discover wouldn't have been wonderful if we could have been there and to hear what the bob said do is is letters of the living when he sent them out to do the teaching it was called, you know, in the don breakers, the address to the letters of the living, my that's, one of the most beautiful stories and one of the most beautiful passages in the whole book and so he's going to send them out to teach, yeah, someone who must have been very wise wrote down the very things that the bob said so we can read about them today word for word, even though we we couldn't been there and i heard you say that the bob told the letters of the living that they were the bearers of the name of god in that day that means that they were the ones who would tell everyone about the new teacher that god had sent the bob told them that they must do only what they knew god wish them to do because then the people would know they were speaking the truth and would listen to them that their lives must be wonderful they must be outstanding people and not only just have good words but good deeds two now that's a good thing for us to remember today isn't it i mean that's what our faces all about not to talk a good deal about what we're going to do but let our hands help other people and our feet run errands for them then everyone will know that we love god and we're trying to be like him and we won't have to talk about it they can tell by the way we live the bob pull the letters of the living also that god was very strong and powerful and that he would help them with all the hard things they had to face all they needed to do was to trust in god and to know that he would help them win the victory this is the way the bob said these are his words a rise in his name in god's name put your trust holien him and be assured of ultimate victory how exciting it would have been to hear those words ring out in the voice of the bob himself no wonder the letters of the living felt so strong and so joyful when they went away even though they must have been sad that leaving the bob they wanted to go out and teach but of course they wanted to be with him all the time too but they went and they scattered all over the land each one one first was own hometown to give everyone there the message that was the bob's idea is not wonderful many people of course i didn't want to listen they thought the letters of the living were mistaken about what they were saying about the promised one and some of the teachers were put in prison and some were beaten and somewhere stone and somewhere punished in other ways and they suffered a great deal for teaching the cause of god but they remembered that the bobbitt told them not to be afraid that nothing could harm them until they had finished their work and so they went right on teaching about the promised one and about how much better the world was going to be because of him of course there were people who were glad to hear them who were excited about the story here's the story of a man who listened to every word they had to say one day at the house of a friend, this man heard more hussein tell about the promised one. When the talk was finished, e s eagerly what is his name ? I am not permitted to tell you his name hussein answer. But if you were pray, god will help you know him. And so the man asked his friend if he might go into another room at once, where he could be alone and pray. He did not even wish to wait until he went to his own house. He wanted to find out right away. And while he was praying suddenly he remember the face of a young man, whom he had seen praying in the shrine in karbala. And now he saw this young bands face again in his prayers. In his vision. The young man seemed to smile at him, and he went forward to throw himself at his feet. He was bending towards the ground when the vision disappeared. This is chapter ten and it's called the storm. Did you ever write and a lovely big boat with this comfortable furniture, just like a beautiful house in the days when the bob in but i have a lot of lived, there were no boards of this thing. There were only small boats which didn't even have engines, and they had to depend upon the wind for their sales. And of course, they couldn't travel very fast. The adventure in the desert between the city of mecca and the place where the bob introduce left the boat. There was a sandy desert which they had to cross. You know that in the desert there's. Not much water. Only now and then travelers come to a well, in a way, since they call it and then they have to carry with them enough water to last from place to place or until they reach the next away. Since so well, horses need a great deal of water. And for this reason, they are very seldom used in the desert. Now we can travel across it in automobiles or above it in airplanes. But at the time the bob lived on the air, there were no automobiles or airplanes. And do you know how they travel in the desert then ? Because i told you last time, right ? The temples ? Yes, sir. So when they wanted across the desert, they had to write on camels, actually, and that is what the bob did on his journey to mecca. And in this way, many people would read the words of bob and know about the coming of the promised one. And probably these people wouldn't know about of the call and then the other way because they never went to the big cities far away and that's how they find out isn't that lovely ? So the bob said don't agree because of his action. This was decreed by god, your dinner, the almighty what that means don't be sorry about it's a good thing. God wish the man the teeth to carry off the papers, so don't worry about it. The barber right safely. If the holy city of mecca he did exactly what they wanted to do. He gave god's message to all the people he met. And i tell you, that was a wonderful jim. This is the story of how the bob was taking the prisoner it's chapter thirteen that's called the bob is taken prisoner well after more the subject had been treated so cruelly as we remember from last time he introduce had to leave the city of she rise the governor wouldn't let them stay any longer for fear that people would begin to believe their message and turn against him the governor because they were so eloquent and the things that they said really touched the hearts of the people, but well aside, that can produce they didn't mind going out of the city because then they could give the message in a new place after they left the city, the weekend governor decided that now he make the above a prisoner and making before all of this so that he couldn't talk to the people in any way. So the governor sent out a company of soldiers on horseback to find the bob and bring him back in chains. As the soldiers road out along a very lonely road, they saw a handsome young man wearing a green sash. It was on horseback and just serving walked behind him. When the soldiers road up, the young man saluted them and asked where they were going. The leader of the soldiers thought it best not to tell this stranger why they were there, so he replied, we are doing an errand for the governor at these words the young man smiled and said, the governor has sense you to arrest me here i am do with me as you please like coming out to meet you. I have made it easier for you to find me the soldier was astonished at this answer he couldn't understand why the bob hadn't run away when he saw the like most people would have done instead of coming out to meet them and giving himself up, he didn't want to take the bar prisoner tall he was so in chatted in charged with him and the soldier pretended not to hear what the bob was saying and started to leave what's the bob road up to women declared that he had never said anything that was not the truth, that he had no wish except to help other people. The soldier was so overcome by these words that it got down from his horse and kiss the strip of the bus and he picked above to run away to escape from that place now and not to let the wicked and crews governor taking prisoner. So he said here in my deliver me into the hands of your master and don't be afraid for no one would blame you, so they went together do the city of survivors, but the soldiers would not change the bob is they've been told to do all the way to the city, the bob road on ahead of the company of soldiers as free as they were, and when they reached rose, the governor asked above many questions and spoke to him in such a way such an angry way that it made the others who heard him very angry too. They didn't like the way the governor talked about the governor didn't wish to do anything, however that would make the people turn against him. So at last he left the bomb go, but before he freedom he made the bob's uncle who lived in the city pay a great deal of money a ransom for freeing the bob and the governor also made the bob's uncle sign a paper saying that if the governor ever wanted the bob again, this uncle would promise to surrender him and bring him to the governor the bombs mother and his wife were with the uncle and you can imagine how glad they were that the bob was freed and they were all together again and for a time the bob lived with them very quietly an athlete. I see no one except this closest friends and, you know, there wouldn't be many such peaceful happy days left for the bob on this earth, so it makes us all very happy to know that he did spend this quiet, pleasant, happy time among his family and his friends. Oh, well, this is one of my very favorite stories of the done breakers this is chapter fourteen and it's called the snow white bird. This is the story of the way in which a beautiful white bird help someone to find the bob the name of the man who found him was up doing kareen for many years after kareem and wanted very much to know more about god and about the great teachers who got had sent to fear it.
