Introduction
“...In the estimation of men of wisdom keenness of understanding is due to keenness of vision.” —Baha’u'llah
The purpose of the Vision-to-Victory Conferences called by the National Spiritual Assembly is:
e to increase the understanding of the friends of the significance of completing the Arc on Mount Carmel;
e to inspire the believers to rise to the challenge of teach- ing “on a scale and of a quality, a variety, and intensity outstripping all current efforts”;
e to inspire the friends to contribute sacrificially, both through individual and collective efforts, to the Fund; and
° to foster a two-year period from Ridvan 1988 to Ridvan 1990 as a time of intensive sacrifice and action in service to the Cause.
The second round of Vision-to-Victory conferences—to be held in 1989-90 in Birmingham, Cleveland, Denver, Minneapolis, Portland, and Phoenix—are designed to be working confer- ences that will support and extend the teaching work in each area. In addition to a consideration of the spiritual significance of the Arc, the agenda will focus on the processes of individual, community, and mass teaching that will lead to the initiation of entry by troops in the United States.
To supplement your experience at the conference, the National Teaching Committee has developed this booklet which contains major messages from the Universal House of Justice, a vision message from the Counselors and the National Assembly, and selections from the Writings. The topics conveyed here will be the major topics raised by the speakers and other participants at the conferences. Study of the booklet will reinforce your understanding of the conference themes and will assist you in preparing a personal plan of action. If we are unable to trans- late the vision fostered by these meetings into action, the victory cannot be achieved.
