World Unity

World Unity
World Unity was a magazine that was circulated from October, 1927 until March, 1935 and published by the World Unity Foundation. Its editors were John Herman Randall, John Herman Randall Jr. and Horace Holley. The concluding volume of the magazine stated its unique character proceeded from the outlook of its founders, who "realized the inter-dependence of religion, science and sociology in the movements simultaneously destroying the past and forming a new era in human history."

In an introduction to the magazine produced by the Library of World Peace Studies, Warren F. Kuehl wrote in 1978 that "the magazine in its early years showed no special preference for any particular position or program over another" but that "as the years passed, the journal showed its increasing interest in the Bahá’í Faith".

In a letter to Shoghi Effendi in 1932 Horace Holley expressed his desire to merge World Unity with The Bahá’í Magazine (formerly Star of the West) and a reply on behalf of the Guardian expressed support for this effort.[1] Following the Great Depression and financial trouble World Unity published its final issue in March, 1935. Also in March, 1935 The Bahá’í Magazine published its final issue and the following month the first issue of World Order Magazine was published.[2]
