CaptionEntrance to the Baghdad Garden of Ridvan, 1920's.png
BW Vol 2: Entrance to the Garden of Riḍván where Bahá’u’lláh declared His Mission to the world and after twelve days departed for Constantinople. These twelve days are observed as a Bahá’í Festival (Riḍván) in commemoration of this event. The beauty of this garden is apparent through its service to humanity―that is, it was a hospital then and two successive governments have used it similarly and it is still a center where bodily ailments are healed.

BN 493: The photograph below shows the entrance to the Garden of Riḍván, on the east bank of the Tigris, where Bahá’u’lláh declared His mission to the world. The twelve days of His stay there are commemorated by the Feast of Riḍván. Surely the use of this spot as a hospital is a symbol of the Divine Physician. Successive governments continued its use and now it is the site of the National Medical Center of ‘Iráq.
